Spring 2025 at Kazimierz Wielki University in Bydgoszcz is marked by international cooperation, innovation in teaching, and European dialogue. As part of the Erasmus+ Blended Intensive Programme (BIP), UKW hosts three interdisciplinary educational initiatives that bring together students and lecturers from across Europe to explore critical themes in health, sustainability, and social entrepreneurship.

Clinical Communication with Patient Education Elements

Empathy. Science. Humanity.

The international BIP program “Clinical Communication with Patient Education Elements”, running from April to June 2025 at the Faculty of Psychology at UKW, focuses on developing key skills in clinical communication and patient education, with a special emphasis on cognitive-behavioral therapy elements.

The project is organized by Dr. hab. Monika Wiłkość-Dębczyńska, prof. UKW, and Dr. Magdalena Liberacka-Dwojak. The program combines online classes with an intensive on-site week in Bydgoszcz from May 26 to 30, 2025.

Participants include students and lecturers from prestigious European and Turkish universities:

  • Başkent University (Turkey),
  • University of Picardy in Amiens (France),
  • Telematic University Uninettuno (Italy).

Lectures and workshops are led by UKW experts including Prof. Wiktor Dróżdż, Dr. Kamila Litwic-Kamińska, Dr. Ludmiła Zając-Lamparska, Dr. hab. Alicja Malina, Dr. Maciej Michalak, and Dr. hab. Monika Wiłkość-Dębczyńska.

This program is not only a knowledge exchange but a platform for creating new, human-centered, and effective approaches to healthcare across Europe, where the patient, trust, and empathy are central.

Green Finance – Perspectives and Challenges

Finance Changing the World.

The second BIP program — “Green Finance – Perspectives and Challenges”, organized by Prof. Sławomir Kamosiński and Dr. Ewelina Idziak, introduces students to the rapidly evolving field of sustainable finance.

The course responds to global trends such as responsible investing, ESG criteria (Environmental, Social, Governance)* (standards for evaluating companies and investments that consider environmental impact, social responsibility, and quality of governance), and the growing importance of financial instruments supporting ecological transformation, such as green bonds, environmental loans, and renewable energy investments.

The program emphasizes practical skills: analyzing environmental risks and methods of assessing and managing them in real economic decisions.

Participants come from partner European universities:

  • University of Western Macedonia (Kozani, Greece),
  • Vilnius University of Applied Sciences – Faculty of Economics (Lithuania),
  • University of Zadar (Croatia).

This program addresses the expectations of Generation Z — students who think globally and care deeply about the planet’s future.

Digital Transformation, Sustainable Development, and Social Entrepreneurship

A third BIP, held on May 19–23, 2025, focused on digital transformation and responsible business practices. It was coordinated by Dr. Karolina Kluth from the Faculty of Law and Economics.
