Public Transport in Bydgoszcz
Public transport in Bydgoszcz consists of buses and trams. Zone I covers the entire city, including the airport. Zone II applies mainly to journeys outside Bydgoszcz.
Tickets and prices
Tickets can be purchased:
- through mobile applications;
- from ticket machines;
- with a contactless payment card inside buses and trams;
- from authorised kiosks and ticket offices.
Current reduced student fares are:
- PLN 1.50 – 20-minute ticket;
- PLN 1.90 – single-journey ticket;
- PLN 2.40 – 60-minute ticket;
- PLN 6.00 – 24-hour ticket;
- PLN 17.00 – five-day ticket;
- PLN 56.00 – monthly or 30-day ticket for all daytime and night services in Zone I;
- PLN 239.00 – student semester ticket, valid for 140 days on all daytime and night services in Zone I.
A time ticket allows you to change between buses and trams until the ticket expires.
Buying tickets with Jakdojade
The easiest option is the Jakdojade application. It can be used both to plan journeys and to purchase tickets.
Students can buy reduced single, time and long-term tickets in the application, including:
- 14-day tickets;
- monthly or 30-day tickets;
- 90-day tickets;
- semester tickets.
To buy a personal long-term ticket, enter your name, surname, PESEL number and the date on which the ticket should become valid. If you do not have a PESEL number, enter your date of birth instead.
The ticket is stored in the application. During an inspection, display its QR code and present a valid student identity card confirming your entitlement to the discount. A Bydgoska Karta Miejska is not required when the ticket is purchased through Jakdojade.
Other applications available in Bydgoszcz include Mint Mobile Bydgoszcz, mPay, SkyCash and zBiletem.
Buying tickets on board
All buses and trams have ticket terminals. Select the required ticket and pay with a contactless bank card, smartphone or smartwatch.
No paper ticket is issued. The ticket is assigned electronically to the payment method used. During an inspection, present the same bank card or device.
Paper tickets purchased in advance must be validated immediately after boarding.
Student discounts
Students of Polish universities are entitled to a 50% discount with a valid Polish student identity card. Always carry your student card when travelling with a reduced-fare ticket.
Foreign students under the age of 26 may use a valid ISIC or EURO 26 Student card issued outside Poland until they receive their Polish student card. Other foreign university cards may not be accepted as proof of entitlement to the discount.
